I woke up yesterday morning, came down stairs, and this is
what I find. Mr. Maison has already put on his Real Kids Shades and is sitting
in the living room playing his game. I
guess that means he likes them right?
How funny I thought!
I ordered Maison and Jeramiah and Miss Sweets each a pair of
the Real Kids Shades anticipating a pretty ordinary pair of sunglasses. Sunglasses are sunglasses right? WRONG I
found out! Most children’s sunglasses
are sold just as toys without any actual protection. Which is actually pretty sad and makes me
wonder what I have exposed my children to for the last several years.
As a mom I constantly coat the kids in sun screen, bug
spray, and make them drink lots of water when it’s hot out but I have never
really put much thought into their sweet little eyes. I’m not alone on this one either. According to Real Kids Shades, only 32% of
parents think about sunglasses for their children. Real Kids Shades is full of facts and
information on how to get your children to willingly protect their eyes. Well I
know Mr. Maison loves his glasses and that was their goal; to create a
protective, fun, and comfortable pair of glasses for children. The glasses even come with a wrap around
strap to help prevent them from falling off, which if you have ever bought kids
glasses that is the biggest battle.
Real Kids Shades are third-party verified that they have
100% UV-A/UV-B protection! Plus they are FDA approved for protecting childrens eyes. They are also
shatterproof and impact-resistant which is perfect for my rough and tumble
kids, how about yours? I especially like the wrap-around frames because it
helps protect their eyes from the peripheral light. Maison even thought he
could use them as goggles in the pool because they covered so good. Well of course he was wrong but it was fun
watching him try. Best of all, they come
with a strong warranty. The creators
truly want to see you happy. I know I am
and I can’t wait to bring you more pictures when all the kids get back together
again!

These sound great...it is nice to know there are "real" sunglasses for children.

On the site, I read that "Shaded lenses without 100% UV-A/UV-B protection will relax pupils, causing them to dilate and let MORE harmful radiation into children’s eyes."
ReplyDeleteI actually heard that many years ago, but it is a good reminder so we can protect children's eyes.

We have been looking for sunglasses for my son and none have looked right or fit the bill. I would love to win some of these for him because he is constantly putting on my hubs sunglasses!
ReplyDeleteIt's not necessarily something that I learned but it made me giggle and made me see just how well-made their shades are!
ReplyDeleteThe best thing for babies’ eyes since Gerber invented mashed carrots.
I am still giggling....
I would love to win a pair of these for my diva. :)
ReplyDeleteProtecting our children's eyes is even more important than protecting our own eyes.
ReplyDeleteMr. Maison is too cool!
ReplyDeleteLooking good, Maison!
