The Travels of Ching

The Travels of Ching

There aren’t many books I can remember from when I was in grade school, just a “few” years ago, but very lightly I can remember the librarian reading The Travels of Ching among a few others.  We all had favorite books growing up, and although I can’t say this was one of them I do remember it, so apparently it did make a lasting impression.

Robert Bright wrote and illustrated the book in 1943 so you could imagine how surprised I was to learn that The Travels of Ching is currently being republished by his granddaughter.  What a sweet gesture that is and a great opportunity to share a book with my children that I remember from when I was their age.

The Travels of Ching is a delightful and educational story of how a little doll makes a long journey from China to America and then into the hands of the most deserving recipient.  This is a great book for all ages.  Miss Aly loved it, the boys loved it, and even I enjoyed reading it again after all these years.
