Purelis Gift Basket- Give Mom some self pampering

I finally got the chance to tear into this Premium Deluxe Bath and Body Purelis Gift Basket!   Isn't the presentation just adorable!  I love the black leather basket too!  It's going to go great on the counter in the bathroom.   This is a perfect gift for Mother's Day to give mom for a relaxing day of self pampering!

This time I ordered Coconut Milk & Berries and I really like how fresh the fragrance is and not overpowering, which seems to be a trend with Purelis. I like this because I worry about too much perfumes and oils around Baby Kolton and how his skin would react.  So far, nothing seems to be giving him any trouble and yet I can still smell the lotion I put on my hands while I sit here and type.

So did you see how full this gift basket is?! What a great Mother's Day gift all plus shipping (if you have Amazon Prime) for under $35!

So of course we had fun trying out all of these products! I got to use the Shampoo and conditioner this morning while baby Kolton was napping.  I still love the scent and my hair was pretty soft after the conditioner.  The moisture locked in my waves instead of leaving my hair all frizzy so I wouldn't mind using it again for sure!

The body wash with shea butter is refreshing and a great addition to this basket.

This basket really has everything!  The four bottles contain a 3.4 oz Bubble Bath and Body lotion which is perfect for after the bath!  The smaller bottles are 1 oz of exfoliating hand scrub and Hand Cream.  They are perfect to throw in my purse!

Then there's the Shea Butter Bath bombs in their own cute little wrapping.  Plus the Purelis Gift Basket contained a wooden massage stick and a loofa back scrubber.  But let's not forget the cute heart shaped soy candles and the bath salts!

This basket is perfect for Mom for a relaxing evening (or several) of self pampering.

Check the Chunk with The Precision Baby Check Digital

It wasn't long after I found out we were pregnant I knew I wanted to nurse Baby Kolton as long as possible.  Sure formula is simple but the benefits of nursing for him and I just really made it an easy decision for us.  Besides it's like uninterrupted snuggle time!  That's my favorite!  But it took a few days for my milk to come in and then the medicine I was taking made him a little pooping machine!  Holy smokes I didn't know a baby could poop that much!

At Kolton's 1 week appointment he had not quite gained back to his birth weight. He was 8lbs 13 oz and down to 7lbs 13 oz, so he had a ways to go. Back to the doctor in 7 days.  We're currently still going weekly for weight checks until he porks up a little more.  And we're officially supplementing a little formula in between feedings. Ugh the one thing I didn't want to do...  But I gotta chunk up my little turkey so here we go...

I couldn't be more thrilled that Eat Smart had sent us this Precision Baby Check Digital scale right before Baby Kolton was born. I thought it would be cool to get to check here and there how much he's growing.  I didn't know it would actually become pretty useful and I would need to check how he was doing between appointments.  I don't have to wait until next Monday's appointment to see if he's gaining or not. I'm so excited to have it here handy so I can monitor his chubby cheeks from home. Which means when the scale said 8 lbs 1.5 oz this afternoon I was thrilled!  We still have a little ways to go but at least we're on the right track!

The Precision Baby Check Digital scale is super lightweight!  I had it in the living room and was able to grab it with one hand while carrying Kolton into our room to weigh him after his bath.  Which is why he's a little ticked off in this picture.  Poor Baby Kolton just got out of the bath and here mom is tormenting him with being in a diaper and taking pictures.  Oh and he hates the camera flash!  He's so funny!  The scale has a "Tare Function" so I'm able to lay a receiving blanket on it, press the button and it reset's to 0 before weighing him.  He hates this one less than the one at the doctors office where they just use a piece of paper. Actually, by this point I gave him his binky which calmed him down and was just a little wiggely.

He was weighed at the doctors office and then again as soon as we got home and they were both the same.  So I would say The Precision Baby Check scale is pretty accurate.  I just thought I would double check since I had the opportunity.  The scale runs on only 2 AA batteries which it came with so it was ready to use when I was ready to use it.

This scale has so many neat little features!  It has a negative weight value in case I forget to reset it and a "weight is unstable" feature if Baby Kolton just won't hold still.  It's so precise it actually reads a fraction of an ounce and can read in kg or pounds and ounces.  It records and keeps a memory of weight readings and will tell me if his weight increases or decreases from the last reading.  This scale is probably one of my favorite nursery tools that we've received for Baby Kolton and I love Eat Smart for sending it to us!

Ark Therapeutic- More than a chewer! $100 Gift Card Giveaway

Let's talk fidget spinners for a brief second... We've all seen the kids collecting them from different shapes and colors to the ones that light up and even have tiny speakers in them. Boy once something becomes popular it really blows up right?  I kinda feel sorry for the teachers because while they were meant to help kids with ADD/ADHD to become more focused, they really did become a "toy" in the classroom and yes a distraction none the less.  Even still, as hot as they were, they weren't safe for all kids.  Those things spin so fast and are generally made up of a super hard plastic or metal they're just they can be pretty dangerous for younger kids or kiddos with disabilities.

Working in the school here and there has really shown me that the kids with dissabilities just have to miss out on certain trends and then that makes them stand out more than they already did.  Not fair right?!  So when I received an e-mail back form ARK Therapeutics stating they would like to work with us and allow us to introduce their products to our readers I was pretty excited!  First thing I picked out was their fidget spinners of course!

Ark Therapeutic specializes in manufacturing innovative therapy tools and special needs products.  So these two fidget spinners were developed as a sensory development tool.  What makes them different? They are both a softer plastic, don't come apart, and the brick sensory fidget spinner is textured on both sides.  Pretty cool!!

Arks Sensory Fidget Spinner Brick  Arks Sensory Fidget Spinner Ninja

So more about Ark Therapeutic:
They have so many different sensory therapy tools I  had no idea that things like this even existed or that there was even a need!  They sent me a big box of products to tell you about and then off to the school they will go!  I'm so excited to be able to share these with the school and other students.

One of the Ark Therapeutic product designs is Chewable Necklaces.  We received a Ark's Dina Tracks, Ark's Krypto-Bite, Ark's Chew Dude, Ark's Pizza Slice, Arks Bite Saber, oh and an adorable Ark's Diamond.  There are so many different designs for these necklaces that there's sure to be something every kiddo would enjoy.    One thing I've noticed is each of these shapes are made with a softer plastic that's appropriate for chewing but color coded for toughness level for different ages or cognitive levels. The cord for the necklace is made out of a rip away clasp and is adjustable simply by putting in a new knot and cutting off the excess.

So not all of Ark Therapeutic toys are designed specifically for children with disabilities and I apologize if that's been my primary focus but I find it pretty cool!

Check out this adorable Ark's Baby Guitar!  We are true music lovers so this is a great addition to Baby Kolton's teething toys for when he gets a little bigger.  The flexible rubber design is easy for his little hands to hold onto and when he starts teething the stem will reach his back molar area without being too big to create a choking hazard.  The textured bumps and ridges will be great for sensory as he will be able to feel them with both his cute little hands and his mouth.  Arks Therapeutic also offers a larger Ark's Guitar Oral Motor Chew which is great for older children to help them chew on appropriate toys and improve jaw strength and stability.

Baby Kolton also received two Baby Chew Rings.  I find myself while I'm typing this sitting here squeezing these as they are soft and very flexible.  They have a few textured spots which will be great when his front teeth start to come in.

Arks Therapeutic offers quite a few products to help older children who chew on inappropriate products replace them with soft motor therapy tools.  We received several Ark's Grabbers which come in different colors, sizes, and textured and smooth so they are efficient for all different levels and needs.  We also received a yellow soft and chewy Ark's Y-Chew which was developed for mild chewers or those with limited jaw strength practicing their biting and chewing skills.

ARK Therapeutic has so many different therapy tools we haven't even really touched the surface.
Be sure to check out all they have to offer from pencil toppers to  cups and straws at the following links;

These kids and their nose picking skills! Gooey Louie

I think Mother Nature is going through menopause or is just one very ticked off lady... What happened to Spring and Summer?  Isn't it supposed to be getting warm out!?  The kids should be in the pool in less than 30 days and it's only 30 degrees out!  I mean... Baby Kolton and I really REALLY enjoy the nice quiet house when the kids are out in the woods playing and building things.

I guess our package from Galiath games couldn't have came at a better time!  One of the games we received was Gooey Louie.  Anyone heard of it?  Hubby said it was his sisters favorite game when they were little and both Aly and Layla said they've watched it on Youtube.  That's helpful sometimes because then the girls already know the rules when they get new games and toys.

So... Gooey Louie, I guess I missed out on this one growing up.  It's super easy to set up, less than 30 seconds if you don't put it away correctly the time before.  And the rules are pretty easy...  Roll the dice, "Put your finger in his nose.. Pull out one of the GOOEYS... WATCH OUT!  Pick the wrong one and he'll flip his lid" which means his brain pops out at you!  It was totally funny when his brain popped out and landed on Layla! Oh and the Gooey's.... They're his boogers!  Oh my goodness....  This would not have been a game I would have bought the kids if in the store by myself.  But I'm totally glad they got it!  Now that I've seen them play it, how much they enjoy it, and how it's kept them entertained and out of my hair, I would totally buy it again!

Kolton got a new bib today!- Cheeky Chompers

Baby Kolton got a new bib today!  Check out this neckerchew we received from Cheeky Chompers!  Isn't it adorable!?

The Cheeky Chomper neckerchew is not only reversible but bandanna shaped, which is so adorably stylish and will match several of Koltons outfits!  The soft and thick material is absorbent without being too bulky that it get's in the way.

I also love the double button design that will allow the Cheeky Chomper bib to grow with him!

But what makes the Cheeky Chomper neckerchew different than the other bibs around?  Check out the front corner!  It's got a chewy teether built right in! When he starts teething he can chew on that teether that's attached to his bib that's going to soak up all that slobber and drool!

He's trying so hard to pull it up to his face LOL
We attach toys to strollers and car seats but those loose teethers get lost when we're on the go, or if your like me you lose them around the house or out in the yard before you ever get out of the driveway...  Now Kolton has a teether that will attach right to him so I wont lose it!  I hate to admit it, I would lose my head if it wasn't attached!

The neckerchew is perfect for both me (who loses everything) and Kolton as it will help keep him dry and entertained!  Be sure to check out Cheeky Chompers and all of their products at the following links;

Ambrosia Scents- A wax melt replacement

I've officially unplugged my wax burner and put it away in the garage!  Why? Because I got a new cordless wax free scent canister from Ambrosia Scents the other day.

Check this out!  My traditional wax burner is constantly plugged using electricity.  My Ambrosia Scents canister comes with a charger.  I think it took just a couple hours to get a complete charge and the canister will stay charged for up to 3 months!  No wasting electricity there!

The wax burner keeps a hot light bulb to keep the wax hot enough to stay melted.  My Ambrosia Scents canister is cool to the touch all the way around.  This is so much safer for Baby Kolton when he starts crawling. I knew I would eventually have to give up my wax burner, I just never thought I would find a safe alternative.  There's not any wax that he can get a hold of and burn himself or even spill.  There's no mess at all!   The Ambrosia Scents canister uses a light yes, but then a fan to distribute the scent throughout the room.

But where does the scent come from?  These cute little Ambrosia Sachet pack a powerful scent and are placed just on the top of the canister and then a lid goes on them to keep a uniformed discrete look.

The scent sachets are pretty neat also! They come with the S hook you see to the left and the strap that wraps around the decroative button comes up so they can be hung anywhere!  I'm thinking closet, car, behind the trash can.  The possibilities are endless!

Ambrosia Scent is a great wax melt replacement!  After giving them a try, I'm not sure I'll ever go back to traditional wax melts...  It just makes so much since to utilize a product that doesn't burn constant electricity, doesn't include hot wax or a hot pot, and there's nothing to spill!  Why use anything else?!  Be sure to check them out at the following links!

Big Ant Adjustable Jeep Grab Handles

Jeep season is just around the corner... Oh how I wish I was feeling well enough to get out there and roam around in it now but I'm afraid it will shake me to death so I suppose I better wait until I'm healed completly.

I'm always looking for accessories for the jeep so when I came across a set of 4 adjustable grab handles for less than $15 bucks I knew I couldn't pass them up!

The manufacture states they will fit a 1995-2005 but the straps on these suckers are long enough that they fit our 93.  I will actually be trimming them up a little bit to reduce the extra strap hanging from the end.

They took a whole 10 seconds to put into place and heavy duty the non-slip nylon straps feel extra sturdy and secure.  I love the non-slip rubber contoured handle too!  We primarily take the jeep out back roading or through the woods so these handles are perfect and will get a ton of use!  Check them out at the following links!

Why Goodie Two Sleeve Shirts?

In just about 5 months, I will officially have two teenage boys... Maison will officially be 13 in September and Jeramiah 15 in December. And like most parents, I'm sitting here thinking "where has the time gone?" They are just growing so fast that it seems like it will be tomorrow and they'll be out of the house and on their own.  (Yes I'm trying really hard not to have a break down moment thinking about it...)

I'm reminded in some very rough ways just how fast they're growing up.  Remember when your mother used to say "Your child will be twice as bad as you".  The boys definitely have a sense of humor and some of the most inappropriate things they find funny.  Wow I'm so "lucky" to be raising boys. LOL But even thought they understand the most inappropriate jokes I would really rather they didn't or at least didn't publicly.  And I don't allow them to wear offensive clothing out in public.

I am the mom that will make them change or stay home if they try. Harsh? Maybe.... But I work in the public eye and I do care that my kids don't turn into turd buckets.

So when I came across Goodie Two Sleeves, I thought "OK this could actually help".  Goodie Two Sleeves offers the funny shirts but they are still appropriate to wear say to an elementary school or out in public with mom.   This company was actually started by two teenagers in 2002, and their shirts are now carried in stores such as Hot Topic, Urban Outfitters, and Nordstrom. Which actually serves a point, you don't need vulgar profane shirts to be sold in some of the hottest stores.

When I came across Goodie Two Sleeves, I let the boys pick out their own shirts.  (oh and now that Baby Kolton is born, I can totally fit back in their clothing! YAY!) Jeramiah found an awesome Aerosmith Dream on 197 T-shirt, that I will totally be stealing!  It's vintage style is too cool and the material is so soft!  Maison snagged a Transformers Distressed Autobot Logo T-shirt  which I'm not a big Transformers fan ( I loved the movies just not a big logo fan), but the shirt is holding up well against washes and is still like new as far as softness and not shrinking.  These shirts are really well made with good quality material.

Goodie Two Sleeves offers so many different brands in their shirts from Blondie & Pink Floyd to surfing cats and dinosaur dj's.  They also offer shirts for women and kids shirts so be sure to check them out at the following links!
