With the sun shining brightly it’s important to remember to protect ourselves from the harmful UV rays. One easy way to do that is a protective hat. Dorfman Pacific has some excellent protective hats that were even featured recently as Oprah’s favorite!

I had the opportunity to try out this one and I have to admit for a floppy style hat, the quality is absolutely there! The last floppy hat I bought on vacation held up for a few hours on the beach, which was very disappointing. This one is however proving to go well beyond expectations.

I have worn it out in the garden, while working on the pool, and to the park. It’s holding up good as new! Not only is it flat out adorable but the sun protection from the wide rim design is wonderful. I can’t wait to wear it out on the boat as well!

Comfort is the key! Oofos Sandles

Easy was the key last week… Easy dinners (thanks grandma), easy getting the kids to

school (hubby did it so it was easy for me), and easy getting dressed and putting shoes on (thanks Oofos). As many of you know, I had surgery last week so now I am playing catch up. But I had the opportunity to really see how well some of these products worked for me, especially the Oofos sandals.  

There was no bending over and putting on shoes, it just was not an option at all. Luckily my Oofos sandals arrived and they were easy on and off! Although that really scored some brownie points for me last week, the true trait of these sandals is how amazingly comfortable they are!

Sprout Baby Foods

So apparently I am a little behind in the current baby food trends because when I handed the one year old a squeeze pouch of Sprout Baby Food, he knew just what to do! These little squeeze pouches are awesome for a snack in the park or on the road on those very busy days!  We take these pouches with us everywhere as a “just in case” snack.

Spout Organic Baby Foods are by far my favorite!  First I will tell you the all natural colors are very easy to clean up out of white carpet.  But then we should be asking hubby why in the world we still have white carpet with a 1 year old, right?

Sun Cups

After surgery Wednesday I am finally getting my apatite back little by little.  But the nausea was about to kill me in the process so I found a sweet snack to get me by.  Did you know sugar is a natural cure to nausea?  I didn’t either until I was directed by a pharmacist to drink a soda for the sugar.

For the first few days I really didn’t want to eat anything but I knew I needed to get something down to help gain back a little energy and keep me from vomiting violently from my medicine.  Sun Cups came to the rescue!  Their Gluten free and USDA Organic ingredients really provided a great “bite here & bite there” type of snack. 

My favorite was the Caramel Cups and of course I shared with hubby who enjoyed the Mint Cups.    Peanut butter isn’t for everyone though right? Well hubby has already started plowing the garden, picking out plants, and drawing up the plans for what he is going to plant where.  But that means he is already planning on his amazing salsa that he makes every year so it’s my job to find the perfect chips to go with it. 

Most of the time we end up buying two or three different kinds of chips because we can’t agree what taste best.  That’s not going to be the case this year because we just had the honor to try RW Garcia Premium Tortilla Chips. 

This 30 year old company is family owned and operated and has developed an organic and all natural corn-based snacks.  The dippers are great for the kids but I like the MixtBag of Red & Yellow Tortilla Chips.  The MixtBag’s will be perfect for salsa this summer and the color is sure to add a little flare to the table. 

The boys however really liked the Veggie Dipping Chips which are colorful and great for their little hands.  Of course mom couldn’t just hand over the bag, I had to give them a try as well and luckily I’m still not feeling the best because I think I would have sat there and ate the entire bag with them!

BeeAlive Skin Care

Quality skin care products is important when you want to look your best but more so for a teenager just starting out.
  I received a wonderful package from BeeAlive, a Spa Essential company and after trying and loving the products, I passed them on to the 12 year old girl we currently have living with us.

It all started with the bag! The bag they came in is perfect for her morning trip upstairs to the bathroom before school It allows her to keep everything in one tidy spot plus keeps the clutter out of the bathrooms. (silently cheering for a clutter free bathroom!)

The instructions BeeAlive sends with their products were super easy to understand and actually rather comforting because they take the time to explain each product, what’s in it, and how to properly use it. This is great for her because I can set her free with it rather than feel like I am smothering her with instructions.  

One of the first products we tried is the Honey Masque which is a unique honey treatment that left my skin feeling soft and firm. Before I sent the bag of products off with her, I tried each one and this one I simply left on my face for about 15 minutes and then rinsed away. This was super easy for conditioning it provides.  

My favorite BeeAlive product was the Foaming Honey Cleanser which is gentle and worked great for a make-up remover. I also got to use the Royal Jelly serum and Enriching Royal Jelly Crème. These were both great products! The Royal Jelly Serum has a special secret though; you can keep it in the refrigerator to help tone and firm the tired under eye area. How neat is that?

BryBelly Wheel

I have the hardest time getting the kids to do chores lately, but instead of giving up all together I have come up with a new solution, make it a game of course! 

We received this prize wheel from BryBelly the kids have been facinated with it ever since.  wheel is filled with colorful sections and each one can be written on with a dry erase marker.  I simply wrote down a different chore on each color and left one open for a “Free Day”.  The boys love spinning it in hopes of getting the free day!  Of course the odds are against them but the chores are easy so they just keep on trying!  It’s so funny, but the end of the night my whole house is going to be cleaned!! I wonder when they’ll catch on?

Change it up with Firmoo

Every now then I like to just change it up. I used to cut or color my hair and that would
cure the need for wanting a different look but since I have been trying so very hard to grow my hair out I had to find alternatives for a new look. 

One of those alternatives was a new pair of glasses and I found the perfect source at Firmoo. It was actually an interesting experience browsing through their selection because I was able to upload a picture of myself and then virtually try on any pair I was interested in. SteamMachine

I’m not going to say that I “love” cleaning but I do love having a clean house and with all these kids in the house a good deep cleaning is a must.  So the real question is “How can I kill the germs before everyone gets sick?”

Using a steam cleaner will do the trick! Steam cleans more thoroughly than chemicals with the high temperatures and reaches into all the cracks and crevices that you would otherwise miss.  Steam cleaning is more cost effective using only water.  Plus steam cleaning is better for you killing 99% of germs and eliminating the harsh toxic chemicals and not leaving any of the chemical residue behind that actually attracts more dirt.  There are several different reasons to steam clean rather than using toxic chemicals but the choice is really up to you.  Keep buying cleaner after cleaner or use some tap water. 

I found a great SteamMachine this week from HomeRight.  I found the SteamMachine really easy to use with the different components and with so many different uses.  It really loosened up the deep dirt and lifted it right up.  Our laundry room still has vinyl flooring that is really hard to clean… This made the world of difference!  But my favorite use is cleaning all the toys.  With extra kids always in and out of the house germs come in faster than they do!  I was able to dig out the SteamMachine and in just a few minutes all the baby toys were disinfected and ready to go for another enjoyable round of fun!  I have used other steam cleaners before, but none of them even compare to how easy the SteamMachine is with all of its accessories.

I’ve heard and seen a lot lately about B.B. Cream and took the opportunity to try Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector Oil-Free B.B. Cream. The tinted SPF 20 cream controls shine, minimizes pores, evens skin tone and hydrates all at the same time. No wonder I have heard so many people ranting and raving about it!  

I love how natural it feels once I apply it and the dermatologist tested product is great for me because I have sensitive skin. But I will more than likely be sharing this one with the 12 year old because as she reaches her teenage years the cream is light enough to give her some coverage without gunky make up. You can recharge the warmer 100 times by charging it for 25 minutes before each use. Of course I have used the bottle without the warmer to! It easily pop’s right out for a quick bottle at home.  

I love how easy the Yoomi bottle is to use and the baby loves its short nubby design. He holds on to it perfectly and it’s overall a great bottle!

Ripe Nightfall Camo Watch

Jeramiah is getting old enough where it is time to take some responsibility into “this time I do this” or “it’s time to do that”.  So getting him a watch is the obvious answer, right?  On my hunt for a new watch for him, I came across Karma Kiss and found just the right one!

Every now and then, every girl likes to get dressed up.  But finding something that fits just right can be difficult or even finding something that’s flattering for that matter.  Well now I bring you Corset Chick.

Bover Bags

As a lot of you know, we have just begun our Foster Parenting journey and it is already proving to be an interesting one.  To prepare for those late night calls or new children placed in our homes I have been trying to get toys, beds, clothing and some of the essentials for all age groups.  But I can’t just jump right up and buy everything new.  I found a used pack n play for $30 a few weeks ago that was in really good shape but it didn’t come with a bag and that makes it really hard to drag around when we are out and about.

With summer almost here, it’s just about time to get the pool ready and when the pool’s open it seems like I wash ten loads of towels every week just attempting to keep up.  But then of course there are the days where towels seem to sit outside and of course mommy can’t always remember to pick up everything.

Newman's Own Organics- NEW COOKIES

Newman’s Own Organics is really becoming a name well known in our house and there is no surprise that they

have sent us another fabulously delicious product to try. 
Newman’s Own Organics has just came out with two new cookies; Vanilla Newman-O’s and Spelt Ginger Snaps.  Can we say “Snap! All gone!” The kids devoured them and that’s ok because as I have told you before, all of their products are certified organic which is a lot better than some of the junk my kids could be eating. 

I’m not a big ginger person but Mr. Maison loved the Spelt Ginger Snaps and they smelled pretty good if you want my opinion on them.  I guess they are a win if the kids like them.
The Vanilla Newman-O’s were pretty great dipped in a glass of milk.  Hey, aren’t I supposed to be on a diet this week?  That’s ok, because these were yummy plus well I just couldn’t help it!

However, I did have a huge diet upset this week.  I was doing good just eating a few of the Vanilla Newman-O’s, but then I opened the bag of Peanut Butter Newman-O’s.  I was able to contain self control only eating a few at a time.  But they were amazing! Now, generally I don’t like to compare a product to another company but in this case I just had to tell you they tasted a lot like the Girl Scouts Peanut Butter Patty’s which are my favorite.  Only these you can get all year round! AWSOME!

Then last night, total epic diet fail!  I just had to open that bag of Orange Chocolate Chip, (you know to finish the review).  An hour later the bag was gone… My poor kids didn’t stand a chance at getting to try these ones.  The little burst of Orange was surprisingly amazing and well who doesn’t love a chocolate chip cookie.  These were great!

I think I should run a “Show me your stash” contest for perfume! I love my lotions and

perfumes and get pathetically excited every time I find a new scent.  It’s so bad, that on days I can’t make up my mind which one to wear and I will put on two or even three different perfumes!  Oh well, hubby hasn’t taken them away yet so I guess I can keep adding right?

Well this week I have had the opportunity to enjoy Jasmine Solid Perfume by Soap and Paper Factory.  I have wanted to try their products for a while but I had no idea they had Solid Perfume. 

I love the jar it comes in because it fits in my purse without being super bulky and in the way.  Plus it’s easy to open and mess free! That’s great for me because I am a pretty clumsy person and tend to make a mess out of everything!  Plus the artwork on the jar is one of a kind and truly beautiful.

The Jasmine scent is long lasting and the salve leaves a clean feeling unlike other solid perfumes.  I have to say this solid perfume is a score for sure!

Park It!

Kids run wild regardless of what age they are.  One of the

ways I keep my kids safe as we are getting in and out of the vehicle at stores or busy parking lots is to have them hop out and then instantly put their hands on the car guaranteeing that they are not more than a foot away from the vehicle until I can get a grasp on them. 

While my kids are big enough to practice this safety tip efficiently when we first started they weren’t and now I know I’m not alone on this.  I recently received “Park it!” which is a cute little magnetic button to put on your car that would have helped me teaching the boys this in a much more fun way.
